Hal: The robot that bleeds and cries.
Robots are great! They are built to replicate human behaviour and human movement and still perform difficult tasks for humans. For us, robots are metallic humans that have metal parts in them and do not have feelings. But, there's a robot named Hal that is so well built, that it can actually bleed and cry when pierced with something sharp.
Hal is actually a medical training robot. His pupils shrink when you shine light into his eyes, he can even urinate. This robot was made to help medical students perform their practicals on a more life-like thing rather than using mannequins or dead bodies. Hal replicates all the emotions of a child, like crying, getting angry, etc. You can simulate a cardiac arrest in him using wireless control and give him a jolt using a defibrillator. You can attach him to medical equipment and it will record his vitals just like a real human being. He can actually breathe. Hal actually communicates with the nurses by his expressions, just like a small child, rather than speaking.
"He breathes, he cries, he speaks. His head moves back and forth. His eyes move. He has blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, glucose measurement."

Now you might be wondering how does this robot actually do all these things? Let's have a look at it!
